Sri Mahamariamman Temple

Standing in all its glory is the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, the oldest and wealthiest Hindu temple situated in Kuala Lumpur. With its vibrant and extravagant design, this temple is a treat for the eyes, a true spiritual and architectural homage.

Atop the Sri Mahamariamman Temple sits the iconic 22.9m (75ft) gopuram, also known as a monumental tower. Meticulously sculpted by skilled artisans, a total of 228 Hindu gods adorn this five-tiered tower, which makes the architectural structure of this temple all the more impressive. A place of serenity and solace, the temple has a calming and peaceful ambience. For those who are curious about the Hindu rituals or have a keen interest in architecture, the Sri Mahamariamman Temple should not be missed.

The temple is located very close to Petaling Street and Central Market which are also popular tourist attractions in KL, so you can make a day out of it by visiting all these destinations in the same day. The temple is open daily from 6am-8.30pm with the exception of Friday and weekends, where it closes at 9.30pm and 9pm respectively. The temple is just a one minute walk away from the hotel, with a distance of 91m.
